First of all, your dropdown to select a product for feedback/bug submission does not have an entry for Mixamo. Please forward this to your Mixamo team.

Knowledge base article 204096606-Maya-Auto-Control-Rig-Script provides instructions that do not work on a Mac. I had to uncomment out lines 5 and 6 and add the path to the folder containing MayaAutoControlRig. Like this:

'''This script can be used as your shelf button.
To use: Move the whole module (MayaAutoControlRig folder) to your scripts directory and run this script.
'''

import sys
sys.path.append( '/Users/someuser/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2016/scripts/Mixamo_Auto_Control_Rig_v_1_6_0' )

import MayaAutoControlRig
MayaAutoControlRig.UI.Main_UI.MIXAMO_AutoControlRig_UI()

Thanks for the script location note - We should make it more clear about the installation. The commented lines are exactly the right thing for using custom script locations. For instance, at work I keep all of our common scripts on the server and everyone sources from there for easy updating. In your case though, it could be a bit simpler. It is intended to not have the versioned folder inside of the scripts directory. It will work with the appended sys.path location, but if the contents of that folder are put into the directory above, it should not be necessary.

There are a few similar installation annoyances like some people's script paths turn out to be completely different... I think that section does need a bit more elaboration for edge cases and troubleshooting.
