I am using Maya 2015 with a new iMac with OS X Yosemite. In the preferences I try to add Photoshop but can't see the folder in the applications window. Is there a permissions problem and how can I solve it?

What preferences are you referring to?
What "applications window" are you referring to?

And it sounds like you are asking for help with Maya - which is not an Adobe product.

Yes I have spoken to Apple support and it is a Autodesk Application issue. I just thought that someone my have an answer here. I have posted on Autodesks Support as well. I have found the application in my HD/applications folder but Maya sees the Photoshop icon as a folder and will not select it. It just opens it as a folder and I see additional files inside. Sorry to waste your time. I have a good notion of its just a Maya 2015 and OS x 10.1 compatibility.
