Match color across multiple images.

Images with a problematic color cast and no neutral areas can be a challenge to balance. Often such images have areas that could be matched to colors in other images, however. For example, the same object or person occurs in both the problematic image an one with a correct color balance. I'd like to be able to tell the software, "this area in this image should match that area in that image, please adjust the balance for this whole image to make it so."

I can see only one potential problem with implementing this; highly saturated colors might not work well for matching because they reflect to narrow a band of the visible spectrum to be useful for determining a balance. I'm confident that most images will have an area that's "neutral enough" to work for this purpose, however. It even seems reasonable that most human skin tones could work well for matching. This would be especially useful as we tend to be particularly sensitive to color balance on skin. Even if the same individual were not available correctly balanced in another image, a different person with similar skin coloration might get you close. It would certainly take some experimentation to see how far this feature could be pushed, but it seems broadly useful in almost any case.
