Photoshop: Mask clipping and gradient or fill filter

How To ?


- Two layers.
- The 1rst is used as a clipping mask (blue rectangle)
- The 2nd is a image bigger than the rectangle

-> It works ! ... ;) the image is "crop" by the rectangle (and i don't see any blue as long as the image is biiger than the rectangle).

IF ! If i use on the rectangle a filter gradient or a fill filter (for example), I don't see the image, I see the gradient, it's looks logical but not that much finally.

It means, I can't really use a clipping mask with a filter, or I missed something ?

I firstly thought I could be in the "Advanced fusion options", a checkbox ... but in vain
