Lightroom Classic: Map module switches to 3d / birds eye view when zooming in (since a few days)

Since a few days the map module changes into 3d / birds eye view when zooming in past a certain level. Maybe google changes something but can we get a option to turn this off so we have a regular top view like before. Now it's very hard to tag photos with a correct GPS position. Especially in cities (like NYC or Chicago) where the tall buildings are blocking the streets behind it. The only temporarily option now it to switch to the "Road Map" Map Style. I hope this can be solved soon.

Some initial troubleshooting steps that unfortunately "resolve" too many problems:

1. Reboot.

2. Reset LR's preferences: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

If that doesn't help: I can't reproduce this on my LR 7.0.1 on MacOS 10.12.6 or Windows 10, and assuming Adobe may not be able to either, providing more details is important:

1. Do Help > System Info and report the exact version of LR and Windows or Mac.  (LR's update is unreliable and often fools people into thinking they're on a newer version.)

2. In which language are you running LR?

3. In which country are you currently running LR?

4. Please post a full-resolution screenshot of the entire LR window containing the incorrect Map view.

5. Include in as much detail steps you take to reproduce the problem, starting in Library grid mode.

Thanks for the reply John. After being unable to resolve this problem for a while I decided to create a post and of course now the problem disappeared without a clear reason. Unable to reproduce it again myself, let's call this one "solved". I must say the map module is still very buggy but I read that Adobe is aware of this (zoom doesn't always work or switching to different map styles won't update) so hopefully they will be able to fix it soon.

That's all too common for Map issues, unfortunately. The issue might also be due to a hiccup on Google's side -- that's happened before.

Which country are you in? Which language for LR?

In The Netherlands and using an all English system (including Lightroom).

In the past, some Google Map issues were restricted to specific regions.  So it's conceivable there were intermittent issues in your part of Europe that LR users in other parts of the world didn't experience.  But that's just educated speculation.
