Bridge: Make metadata edits made to movie files in Bridge display in Premiere Pro for imported movie clips

I am using Adobe Bridge to log all my Metadata so when I import it in to Premiere everything is organized. However, once I've imported my files in to premiere, I'd like the option for the metadata to update. So for example. Let's say I imported all my clips with their current metadata, but then decided I wanted to change the data. So I go to Bridge and change it and save it, but it doesn't update in Premiere. Instead currently I have to re-import those files for them to have the correct data. It's pointless for Premiere to have the option to "show clip in Bridge", but then have to re-import the clip after you've made changes. Anyways, just something to think about for future updates. It would be fantastic for that to happen.

Hi Andy, are you referring to Premiere Elements or Premiere Pro? If I understand the request correctly, my guess is the change would need to be made in Premiere to poll for metadata changes made in Bridge.

Yes, I'm speaking of Premiere Pro. So then should I re-post this elsewhere? But that's exactly right. If you could just click on the clip in premiere that had the metadata changed and say, "refresh metadata", that would be FANTASTIC! Thanks for the comment.

This is really a limitation of Premiere, not of Bridge. Bridge always writes the metadata directly to your file as you add it. It's not Bridge's fault that Premiere reads that information on import and it doesn't automatically read that info again.

I'd suggest submitting a feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/i...

Yup. Submit it to the link that Brett has above. Todd and Premiere Pro team will see the request there.
