In order to improve productivity, it would be awesome to make 'panorama merge preview' run in background so you can organize and prepare other things meanwhile. I am mainly using Lr for Panoramas and this would greatly increase the throughput of files.

You can do this by hitting C+Shift+M after selecting the files to merge

I think Jerry means  Ctrl + Shift + M. You can also use Ctrl + Shift + H for Merge to HDR with no dialog.

So it will only run one instance of the merge operation and queue the rest. It doesn't affect performance too much on my system and takes about the same amount of time as performing the merge manually. Very helpful!

Just be aware of this: You can't have the slider for Boundary Warp to anything else but zero if you merge to panorama without the dialog.

"You can't have the slider for Boundary Warp to anything else but zero if you merge to panorama without the dialog."

Sounds like a bug that should be filed if it isn't already -- "headless" merges are supposed to use the previous settings.

I would have to check this again. Maybe I don't remember it correctly. The slider is always back at zero when you do use the dialog (in contrast to 'Auto Crop' for example, which remembers its previous setting), but maybe it does work correctly when used headless.

OK, I checked it and I'm sorry for the confusion. When used headless the Boundary Warp setting is retained after all. It just defaults back to zero when you do use the dialog.
