For years I have had problems with the auto Import mode on both of my Windows computers---the last being on Windows 10 Pro. It seems like perhaps every time or all too often, the Import Auto mode fails to work at all, if it does work, the camera card is not shown under Devices. Today, it wasn't shown immediately, but after a while it suddenly appeared, all on it's own.
Several times, Adobe Support has done various things to fix the problems, which over the years has taken a substantial amount of my time. Today, I spend about 1 1/2 hours with Support and a few days ago I spent approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes on the phone to try to resolve the issues. To fix the issues, a new Preferences was made on both computers, Permissions where changed, and the Windows Registry was edited. With a new Preference file being made, you have to try to set LR back to the way it was before but the Support person didn't seem to think that there would be anything to change! I remember Support doing something with the Registry before and changing Permissions also. Obviously, during the upgrading/updating process recurring errors are made.
It would be nice if Adobe would resolve these issues so they don't keep recurring!
