Photoshop: Make a parallel to your drawn Path with ... px and make this a selection

It would be great when it would be possible to make a parallel to a drawn path with the pen tool and specify the distance to the original in px and make that into a selection.
When making selections in buildings I often need to make curved selections. Automating the line above/inside/outside of the first line will safe a lot of work!

I’m not sure I understand your intention.
If you need a Selection then Selection > Modify > Expand and Selection > Modify > Contract should yield fairly decent results for curves (edit: for Selections based on Paths).

Could you elaborate?

No that is not what I meant.

Take this image.

Green is the selection that I want.

Now it would be great if I could just draw a path like the red line and specify how many px wide the parallel should run.

This would safe a lot of work.:)

What’s the red line indicating?

Also I think what you want would not be useful a lot of the time, even in this image the selection would seem likely to conflict with the borders of the actual area in many regions.

The most meaningful work-around that comes to my mind currently would be a Shape Layer with a Stroke.
That can be used as the basis of a Clipping Mask or rasterised to create a Selection.
