LIGHTROOM - Maintaining Correct Creation Date on Exported Files (Modified Dates Too)

Lightroom 4, Created Date and Modified Date:
Even though LR imports and displays the correct created date, when I export to a file, it changes both created and modified dates to the time that it is being exported. This happens even if I have changed nothing in the file.
I really would like the created date to reflect the time the photo was taken.
How can I accomplish this?
Thanks, Bill

Photo software and Web sites generally ignore the operating system's modified and created dates of the files themselves and make no attempt to maintain them. Instead, photo software looks at the capture dates embedded in the files' photo metadata. The operating system's modified and created dates tend to get changed whenever you invoke photo applications, copy the files or restore from backups.

Thus, I think it's unlikely that LR will ever implement a feature request to set the modification and creation dates of exported files.

However, you can configure Windows File Explorer to show you the Date Taken column:

But if you really want exported files to have their modified and created dates set to be the same as the capture date in the metadata, you could use the free Exiftool with the plugin Run Any Command to create an export post-process action that does it.
