Lightroom: Macintosh HD not showing in folders after moving files to external HD.

I posted this the the LR discussion board and it was suggested to post here as well:

I was moving files within LR this morning to an external HD (created new folder, dragging and dropping individual folders to new HD folder), and after adding a large folder of photos (about 1/6 of my entire catalog size), the task ended and my Macintosh HD main folder disappeared. The files are still showing in the main "all photographs" under Catalog at the top and the files are still on my computer.

Anyone know how to get Macintosh HD to reappear under Folders so I can move the remaining picture folders to the external HD? I'd rather not move them outside of Lightroom.

Click the + on the Folder heading and add a folder from your Macintosh HD.

Thanks for the reply Jeffrey. I attempted this process this morning, but it prompted me to the import screen to reimport all the photos from the Macintosh HD. I didn't do this, but it also didn't look like it would allow me to as all the images were faded/greyed out. This makes sense since they are already in the LR catalog as you can see in the screenshot I attached.

You should check what the drive format is on the target drive... I have just found what I think is a bug - writing to an NTFS formatted external drive, I can't write out an exported catalog...

Tried to report this to Adobe as a bug - but they thought it was not the issue - but after I swapped drives, I found out that indeed it was the issue.
