Dear Adobe support,

One of the teacher reported to us that, after upgraded the Mac OS version to El Capitan (10.11), the photoshop keeps crashing when trying to save files. We have tried to reinstall and also update the OS to the newest, but no help.

Please kindly advice on it, and feel free to contact me if more info is needed, thanks for concern!

Best regards,

What does the long, detailed crash report say?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. However the teacher always says it is crashed without anymore info like screen cap...

We have planned to visit the class tomorrow when they are using photoshop.

Last Friday we ran the CS6 installer and selected Photoshop to reinstall. Hope all works good tomorrow.

HI all,

Just figure out that it is handed up when those students are trying to save the work directly to the network drive. Reset the Mac profile seems solved the issue.

However, we have another problem facing that some iMac (around 4~5 out of 24) when starting up photoshop, it will stopped at "scanning for presets..." and never load to the apps. After reset the preference folder by holding shift+option+command and start the apps, it is ok to load at first time. However, then students login to that iMac and start photoshop, the problem happens again.

OK, so you may be hitting another OS bug with network servers.
But if it is crashing, we really need to see the long, detailed crash report.
If it is just hanging, then most likely it's the OS and server miscommunicating.

Not sure what could cause it to hang while scanning for presets, unless someone put a link in the presets folder to a network volume that has problems.
