Photoshop, Camera Raw, Lightroom: Better LUT sharing between apps

I like the way that ACR and Lightroom Classic now share a common location for presets and profiles.

What I would like to see is the ability to import LUT files into Photoshop and have them then be available in ACR and LR. This would allow me to manage the files in one location. The conversion of LUT files to XMP could be a background process if new files are detected. Being able to copy LUT files to a common folder and have Adobe do the rest would be wonderful. Actually it would be even better if the video applications were included in this sharing as well.

Today it is a tedious process in ACR to import multiple files as they need to be done one by one. In Lightroom I do not think there is a way to import them. Those I bring into Photoshop are only usable within Photoshop.

I agree.  The new enhanced profiles weren't designed to make it easy for LR and ACR to use the thousands of video LUTs that already exist.  Another glaring omission is the lack of support for the Rec 709 color space, which is used by the vast majority of video LUTs:

Adobe hasn't documented the representation of LUTs in enhanced profiles, so it's not possible for a plugin to provide solutions to these two problems:

My Apply LUT plugin makes it easy to apply existing LUTs, but like all editing plugins, it creates a new TIFF that gets imported into your catalog. The new enhanced profiles are superior in that they apply directly to raw files and are very fast.

Yes, i went through a process recently where i needed to generate hundreds of Enhanced Profiles from LUTs i created in 3DLut Creator and it was an absolutely miserable experience. All i wanted was the exact same settings every time with the .cube file name applied to the Profile name. You'd think there would be some way of automating this, but you'd be entirely wrong.
