Lightroom mobile/web: Slideshow is played in reverse chronological order

The slideshow from the collection runs in reverse chronological order or capture date.  Tapping the sorting icon does not toggle the chronological order of the slideshow.

This problem is observed on both Lightroom Mobile and Lightroom Web.

Is this an issue with the slideshow order on a shared album on lightroom.adobe.com, or are you seeing the slideshow order not match the order you're seeing in the photo grid?

We have this long-standing issue that sounds similar, but it sounds like you might be seeing something different https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-public-gallery-not-sorting-correctl...

Thank-you for your reply.
Both Lightroom CC Desktop and Lightroom CC Mobile works as expected ie the photos in the grid ie sorted by capture date both forward and reverse. The slideshow from the Lightroom Web launched from Lightroom CC desktop's cloud icon.

However photos sequence (grid) launched from individual shared albums ie shared link copied from the shared album with the redirect link https://adobe.ly  do not sort on clicking the sorting icon (even when the icon change direction). The slideshow will show the sequence as per the photo grid ..

There is another problem with the photo sequence launched from the shared links. There are not sorted by capture date .. I have some photos which I did with Adobe Spark for collages and to add text annotation added to the same album sequenced correctly by editing the capture date to align with the album photos. These photos does not appear in the same sequence when launch with the shared link (ie via the redirect link https://adobe.ly  .

This problem is also observed when albums containing these photos (edited capture date) are imported into Adobe Portfolio via Lightroom import. The sorting grid in Portfolio will sort the photos imported from the camera correctly but the photos done via Spark or other photo app with edited capture date will be not in the sequence I intended.

Thanks for the additional info and context.

We'll look into whether there are issues with edited capture dates and get back to you.
Can you confirm that you did the capture date editing in Lightroom CC (and not Lightroom Classic or another application)? My working assumption is Lightroom CC but that will be useful to confirm.

Apologise for late reply. Was out of town.
All capture date edits are on Lightroom Classic CC. The photos in Lightroom CC (desktop) are all sync from collections in Lightroom Classic. Hence all albums in my Lightroom CC are from collection in Lightroom Classic.

Just to update further, we haven't been able to reproduce an issue with editing the capture date not getting reflected in a date sort, but we have a few known issues and inconsistencies that likely explain what you're seeing:

1. Albums can be custom sorted in Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Web, and if it was at some point then becomes the default sort on Lightroom Web (and the importer to Portfolio/Spark it looks like), whereas it sorts by capture date in our other apps.
2. There's not a way to control the default sort order for Album shares on Lightroom Web (the issue I linked to describes a workaround for this).
3. We don't sync the sort order you select on an album to the cloud.
This is definitely confusing right now, and we're working on improving the situation (especially for 1&2).
It'd be helpful to know if you think something else is going on, and if it'd be okay for me to reach out to you over e-mail to get an example album for us to debug.
