Lightroom CC: Improve speed of Spot Removal Tool

Lightroom CC Spot Removal is very slow. Will it ever reach the level of responsiveness that Photoshop uses? I hate having to open my photos in Photoshop just to do spot removal. This bloats my raw NEF file from 25MB to a 130MB TIF. I'm using the 5K 4GHz i7 iMac with 32GB of ram. I've been using LR since it's inception and have seen the Spot Removal tool slowly improve.

I'm sure it'll continue to improve, but it's a very different tool to Photoshop. Photoshop is changing the pixels once, whereas Lightroom is storing a set of complex text instructions that it has to rerun every time you load the photo.

Thanks for the Technical response. That makes sense and I realize they are different tools. LR has advanced so much that it's mainly 99% of my workflow. would love to see this improve. I have to admit, I do love PS as well, but I need to figure out how to work with smaller file sizes. I'm not ready to downgrade my photos to 8bit just yet. 6 images get stored as 1GB. I did see a work-around a few years ago suggesting to work with smaller file sizes to do edit in LR, and then replace those files with the full size files and the edits will apply. Too much work, so I just open in PS...

I need a new workflow...
