LR/CS5 integration issues with NAS

If I edit a file from LR in CS5, and that file is on the same computer, everything seems to work OK.

If that file is on my NAS however, all heck breaks loose. First, when I attempt to close (and save) the file after editing in CS5, the "save as" dialog unexpectedly pops up. Seems when opening a NAS-based file from LR into CS, the file becomes disconnected...the original name and directory is completely lost. So I save the file manually with a name that makes sense back into the original folder and try to import/add it to LR. LR says the file is corrupted. Toast. Done. Opens OK in CS, but no way to get it back into LR, completely defeating the point.

Sounds like your NAS has a problem, or some part of the driver software on your computer connecting to it.

I don't think so, because everything else works fine, and this problem can be reproduced 100% of the time.

If Photoshop and Lightroom work on the local file system, then they should work the same on the NAS. If they don't, the NAS or it's driver software (even possibly part of the OS) have a problem because they are not handling the same file operations correctly on the NAS.
