Lightroom: LR 5.2 - With publish services, photo select not working

Working in collection under Publish Services, Library module, grid view.

When selecting photo within the grid, the photo border area changes from grey to light grey signifying it is the selected photo. When I select a different photo, the border color changes, however, the metadata panel does not change to the newly selected photo, nor does the photo selected in the filmstrip change. It shows the metadata from the original photo. The file info above the filmstrip does not change either. The metadata shown is from whatever photo is selected in the filmstrip. If I doubleclick on a photo, the photo shown enlarged will be the photo selected in filmstrip, not the only double-clicked in grid view.

If I change select photo from the filmstrip, it will update the metadata panel.

IN the attached photo, the metadata is from the pic highlighted in the filmstrip which is different from the pic highlighted in the grid view.

It's better in Lr5.2 than Lr5.0, but not 100% fixed...

To be clear: the metadata panel is probably representing the actual photo selected - make sure you don't ever edit or delete photos based on a wrong selection (i.e. based on what *appears* to be selected in publish service grid).

Assuming you are really running Lr5.2 and not Lr5.0, for now, I recommend selecting photos in the filmstrip instead (avoid selecting photos in the publish service grids).

And as I said, the filmstrip "select" photo doesn't match the grid "select" photo. Yes, the metadata and double-click open both display the filmstrip select photo even when making the selection from the grid view.

Bad bug, being able to make grid-view photo selections while working in folders, but not in collections.

This was the case in 5.0? I missed that, there's a good chance I would not of upgraded from 4.x if I noticed that bug. I knew of performance issues, figured I could live with them. But section is a pretty basic operation, one that I expect to work.

Yes, that is the problem. But they will match if you use the filmstrip for doing all your selecting instead of using the thumbs in the publish service grid section - right?

And I agree: it's a very serious bug - I had inadvertently edited and also deleted the wrong photos before discovery.

Adobe came out with Lr5.2 (there wasn't a 5.1) in less than normal time-frame because of such serious bugs in Lr5.0, and it fixes those bugs in most but not all cases.
