LR 4 keywords

I started a new catalogue in LR 4 and imported my LR 3 catolgue from a different catalogue name. All of the keywords were not there, so I figured that it only imported the keywords that were actually used. Then, I tried importing in LR 4 my backup keyword file, like I always do, but it will not import the hierarchy file like it use to and keywords missing are still missing. What is the solution?

In LR4, open the LR3 catalogue and allow LR4 to convert it. That's what you should have done, not importing the LR3 catalogue.

If necessary, because you've done work in LR4 - open LR3 and do a Metadata > Export Keywords. Then in LR4, Metadata > Import Keywords.

Thanks for the reply. It was my error in that I had one catagory called location in 2 places and I didn't realize it. The second entry didn't have all the sub-fields and it made me think that it wasn't importing the txt files correctly. That second entry has been deleted and everything is working correctly. Sometimes you "can't see the forest for the trees." THANKS AGAIN.
