LR 4.2 RC1 Extremely Slow display of Sony RX100 ARW file thumbnails and Extremely slow import. Windows 7 64-bit, 8GB RAM, 2.4 Ghz quad processor. Lightroom 4.1 is installed and works fine with Canon RAW files.

Mack (and Jeff) are you using the latest 4.3 update?

I am using LR4.3 without good luck :( Still dead slow...
I found it might not be the ARW files but SDXC card (or ARWs on SDXC card), because once I copied the files to the desktop, LR4.3 can then import the ARW files from there much faster.

Strange. Sounds like a hardware/OS interface issue.

I am. I got around this by uninstalling/reinstalling 4.2 also.

OK. So it sounds like you're in better shape with the official 4.3 release?

I don't think that had anything to do with it. I think the 4.2 install was not terribly robust and reinstalling it solved the problem. I have not played much with 4.3 yet, so I'm not sure if this is a problem yet... just built a new PC and haven't had time to play :)

Gotcha. Thanks. Let me know how LR 4.3 works for you when you get to it.
