Lightroom 4.2 (downloaded 10/10/12) displaying blurry grid images, regardless of size, when in "import" whether jpg or nef. Single large image display fine. Other modules display grid mode with no issues.

Did you not experience this problem with earlier versions?

What camera is that?

What camera are you shooting with?

You could try rebuilding the preview file.
Quit LR
Catalog settings > General > click Show > Doubleclick the Lightroom Folder > Delete the Catalog Previews.lrdata file
Restart LR

And is it this way in Library View? or only during Import?

Where are you importing from?

Library view is fine, only happens when you go into import mode.

Importing from the HDD, once imported and in Library they view fine in the grid.

In my case I am using a single display, and the problem is only in "import", "Develop" looks fine.

You're right. I've forked the other three posts into a separate topic.

Thanks Paul. Where are you importing from? Are images blurry if you import from the hard disk? or only camera? or card?

Paul,
Can you try with new catalog?
Create a new catalog, and import from there. Let us know if that is blurry as well.
This will rule out anything catalog specific, or point us to your catalog.

Also, can you provide us with any sample images that import blurry?
You can use dropbox, or similar service to share with us.

Thanks!
Pete

Pete,

Probably will not be able to get to it till next week. Having issues at work getting ready for Sandy, not a happy thought.

Just to clarify, they are not importing blurry, only blurry when in grid mode when selecting for import. If I go to single image display when in "import" they look fine.

This is happening with any photo regardless of camera, whether current photo, or years old, whether jpg, or nef.

If you are east coast, stay dry and safe!!

Thanks Paul, get back to us when you can give the new catalog a try and we'll pick this back up when you have availability.

I am on the west coast, but same to you, be safe!

Right now I wish I was on your side of the country, however don't like shaking land! We are in a direct path for where she is expected to make land! Will be in touch next week when things settle down.
