Lightroom: LR 3.5 problem importing scan tiff files

Since updating to Lightroom 3.5, scans saved in tiff format import erratically. Previews show up in the import window and the import progress bar appears, but no import occurs. After following many suggestions from members at lightroomforums.com, I finally found that the problem was solved only by moving all 15k+ of the files to another HD. (I had previously tried myrid solutions, involving permissins, various LR settings, new catalogs, etc, all reported on lightroomforums) This is a monumental, time-consuming job. I'm hoping Adobe comes up with a fix before I begin.

I believe this is a bug.

Did you get any sort of error message from Lightroom? Is it possible the hard drive you were originally using was defective?

I get no error message. As I said, the import seems to go normally.

Here are a few reasons I don't think the HD is the problem:
The problem appeared coincident with updating to 3.5
I have the same problem with both of the two HD's with the files on them, but when, at the suggestion of Victoria Bampton, I moved a few of the files to a third HD, those files were imported into LR.
The files open in other software, including CS5, Bridge, Preview, Apeture, and Xee.

Very strange. If LR is getting hung up on specific files, we may want to get ahold of them.

The disk I'm trying to catalog has ~15k files on it. I don't have an actual count of those that won't import. Maybe 500 or so.

I should say that several of the people with whom I corresponded on Lightroomforums.com d/l'ed a few of the files and imported them. That is, as soon as they are on another disk and being operated on by another copy of LR (or maybe an earlier version), they import. Unfortuantely, I no longer have my copy of 3.4, to see if the files still import using it.
