Lightroom Classic 7.3: Using new profile browser in 'List' view the previews are inconsistent with mouse hover

Using Windows 7 if you change the new 'profile browser' to "List" instead of Grid or Large the profile screen previews do not consistently follow the mouse position & update to correct screen preview:

i.e. using the 7 Adobe Raw profiles the on screen preview changes from Adobe Color to Monochrome as you move/hover the mouse cursor down the list but it does not change for landscape or neutral etc. it gets stuck back on I believe the default Adobe Standard.

It seems to display 2 previews then it stops updating the screen previews.

If you move the mouse off the browser panel and back a different choice each time it will update to correct preview each time but not if the cursor is left within the browser panel space.

Sometimes changing direction with mouse makes it work briefly again.i.e move down through Adobe color->landscape->neutral->portrait then back up to neutral and it will make preview update but it is very inconsistent. The left/right position within the panel does not make any difference.

Previews work ok using the Large or Grid mode options.
Toggled the GPU mode on/off with no change.

I will see if it affects my Windows10 laptop after LR is updated there later tonight.

Upgraded my Windows10 laptop to LR7.3 and everything seems to be ok with the Profile browser list view using a mouse, trackpad and my Wacom tablet (both modes)

I repeated my tests on the Desktop after a reboot and also reset the LR preferences. - no change

After testing some more I found that the List view does not work properly with either my wireless mouse, a wired mouse or the Touch mode on my Wacom tablet.
However, it does work correctly using the pen with the Wacom tablet.

I have included a video showing mouse, touch mode and pen mode.
As you can see the cursor moves correctly in all cases yet LR does not detect the hover positions correctly while using mouse & touch.
I forgot to show in the video but if you move the mouse cursor (using mouse or touch) to the left onto the photo area and then back to the profile browser list it WILL change a preview for that movement.
So LR tracks left/right motions ok but not up/down?

For now I am ok with using LR as it works with the Pen and that is what I use most often while in develop.

I see the exact same behavior on my Windows 7 SP1 desktop system and reported it to Adobe Engineering during LR 7.3 Prerelease testing as follows:

Below is a video demonstrating the LR 7.3 R4 Rerelease profile selector preview hang issue. I used the 'Favorites' profiles in this video, but the same behavior is observed using ANY of the profile groups Adobe Raw, Camera Matching, Artistic, B&W, Modern, and Vintage. When the onscreen preview stops updating moving the mouse pointer rapidly across multiple profiles causes it to start working again, but only for a few profiles and then it stops updating again. I tried it with 'Use Graphics Processor' checked and unchecked with no change in behavior.

Grid and Large selectors work with NO Issues. It's just happening in List view.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/x32nosh17d767nu/LR 7.3 Release 4_Profile Selector Rollover Hang.mp4?dl=0

I'm using a Logitech M500 corded mouse that was purchased three months ago with no other issues in LR or any other application. I also tried two other similar corded mice (Logitech M-U0026, HP M-009-HP1) and they exhibit the same preview hang behavior.

I just tried the profile rollover test using my Intuos 4 tablet pen and do NOT see the profile hang. So for some reason the Intuos tablet works as expected, but NOT a regular corded mouse. I'll mention again that I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64bit so it may be OS dependent.

Bruce Houstoun it appears this issue is specific to Windows 7 since you've confirmed your Windows 10 laptop does not exhibit this issue. Adobe Engineering's response in the LR 7.3 Prerelease forum was: "We are not able to reproduce it internally. But we will keep working on it." Makes me wonder if they even tested the issue on a Windows 7 system!

Thanks for the update, since you have seen the same behaviour I will not go further in testing to see if I can get it to work with my mouse.
It is just weird how it will usually work for the 1st 1-2 choices then intermittently for the others.

Using Win7 SP1 ... tried Dell/MS wired mouse, Logitech Anywhere MX wireless mouse and Intous 5 touch tablet - only using LR with the tablet pen works correctly out of these 3 devices for Profile Browser List view.

I agree it's very weird and why only on Windows 7. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update.
