LightRoom 6 Slide Show Crashes on Preview/Play

LR6 crashes every time I press Preview or Play in the Slide Show Module. GPU accel. is off. LR4.4 works as expected with the same photos. It starts to prepare slides for preview and seems to crash after the last slide is prepared. It also is so fast in the beginning of preparing slides that I can't see where it begins but slows considerably around slide #50 or so and then continues one slide at a time until the last slide and then crashes.

Check the manafacturers website for an updated graphics card driver.

I tried but have the latest driver. My video card is 2009 vintage but doesn't have a problem with LR4.4 or anything else to my knowledge. I hate to buy a new card if that is not the problem, will have to consider it though if no one else seems to have this problem. Thanks Victoria. Waiting patiently for the new book!

Lightroom 6 is the first version to use the GPU. Older versions wouldn't encounter bugs in the video card drivers because they weren't using much of the video card drivers.

If you are on Windows, go to the GPU maker's website and download the latest driver.
If you are on MacOS, you'll have to wait for Apple to fix the drivers, and you can turn off GPU usage in Lightroom for the time being.
