Lightroom 6.2: MacOS 10.11 El Capitan are Not a happy couple

I'm going nuts. My lovely LR 6 has now been over-ridden by LR6.2, and now its full of bugs and doesn't work. This all happened after I loaded El Capitan, and suddenly LR6 no longer worked At All. So I downloaded 6.2 - and now I feel like I've landed on alien planet with no friends and just problem after problem after problem. I can't load develop setting. I can engage discrete tools, but only partially and erratically. It tells me it can't find my photos. Where oh where is the LR 6 that I know and love? How can I get it back?

I have a MacBook Pro with i7 DuoCore 2.7GH processor and 16M RAM. When I transferred to LR 2015 in May I began having very shortened battery life (6 hour battery lasting 3 hours). When LR 2015.2.1 was loaded I was still on Yosemite and began seeing worse battery life (2 hours) and buggy performance (beach balls several times an hour). I thought that perhaps 2015.2.1 was designed to perform better with El Capitan, so I finally made the OS update. Now LR is almost useless. Last night it froze up on me about 7 times in one hour and had to force it to quit each time. Between freezes it would stall and take upwards of 10 seconds to register my adding a star.

It has been 5 weeks since 2015.2.1 was released, and I had anticipated that Adobe would have another fix (at least partial) release by now - at least for the bugginess. I assume the battery life is unrelated and will be engineered over time. I would consider reverting to the earlier version, but don't want to do this if a bug fix is eminent.

I don't feel I should have to pay for the last month - or for the time until the bug fix is implemented - because the product is almost unusable.
