Hello, It would be nice to have the possibility to "un-link" GPS coordinates and altitude in the Map module. If you drag pictures in the Map view adjusting GPS coordinates, altitude value is automatically removed.I understand that if you change the GPS position, the altitude changes also, but for adjustment I have to make, there are no big altitude changes therefore keeping the original value for me is good (since the new value it is not calculated automatically). The best thing would be some sort of "lock flag" for altitude-coordinates un-link, in order to keep the original value when moving photos on the map. What do you think?dk

I like the new implementation which fills in the altitude automatically when you drag pictures in the map.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom - Altitude Data.

I have thousands on aerial photos captured with a GPS attached to the camera that applies... waypoint, altitude & image direction info to the metadata.

My work process means I need to shift the GPS point in the map module for these images without losing the altitude information.... currently when moving the GPS point the altitude is reset to what I assume is the ground elevation for that position.

Would it please be possible to add a feature where the altitude value could be locked when moving the GPS position in the map module so the original capture info is retained.

My thanks, Wes Palmer
