Lightroom 5 using 150% of CPU

Lightroom is hogging my RAM

Even in idle operation LR5 is hogging my resources with a whopping 39% RAM use. If I do just add a keyword to a picture, this jumps up to 98%. Of my 8GB RAM only 12 or 13 mb are left. Is this normal behaviour. I remember using LR 4 and not encountering this kind of behaviour. I am on a MacBook Pro.

Just to tell, the 156,3 is actually % CPU! And please don't tell me to do a fresh install... I installed it new just a week ago!

No - such behavior is not normal, however I've no idea what's causing it - sorry.

Since MacOS accounts for % of a single CPU, that just means that Lightroom has something going in some thread in addition to the main application thread. That could be an OS thread (MacOS likes to do some file work on the application side), or some background process like cleaning up the database, extracting thumbnails, etc.
