LR5 copy & paste development settings (crop) does only show after visit to development module

I have to crop some pictures with exactly the same settings. In LR4 I would do this in Grid view with copy development settings -> paste development settings.

In LR5 this does not have any visible effect in grid view. Only after I opened the development view and change back to grid the effect becomes visible.

Note: I copied the development settings of files I had edited in LR4. Might work differently with LR5 edited files. Will check later today.

EDIT: The problem occurs only if the picture I use to copy from, has been cropped with LR4.

I can't reproduce it here (Win 7, 64 bit, LR5 catalog converted from LR4 catalog, copying from untouched LR4 images that have been cropped in LR4).

However, in grid view it can take a few seconds until the thumbnail image is updated, especially if LR currently computes preview images for the current grid page in the background. Perhaps you simply did not wait long enough?

There is an indicator for not up-to-date thumbnails: Three small dots in the upper right corner. The indicator appears immediately when pasting and disappears a few moments later when the preview has been re-computed.

Yes, I can see the small dots in the upper right corner and nothing happens. Only opening the development module and switching back to grid view starts a change.

I use a Mac I should add.

I am unable to reproduce this issue on Mac with images cropped in 4.4 and settings pasted in 5.0. Once the updating indicator (...) dismisses, the Crop is applied in the Library Grid without having to move to Develop in the interim.

Ok, not the same here. The updating indicator does not dismiss in my case. What can I do?

Maybe it's because I only crop relatively small stills from a frame grabbing card? Does it have to do with the size?
