LR5 adjustment brush resets ALL development settings by itself

When I use the local adjustment brush, at some point ALL my develop settings get reset. Is this an known new issue?

As additional info, my steps:
- Set camera profile
- Remove spots
- Apply basic settings
- Apply local adjustments using the brush

At some point, Lightroom doesn't accept a brush stroke anymore and resets all development settings by itself!

I have used the same steps for many other images in the past, but am running into this issue regularly now since a month or so. Stepping back one action in the history panel gives me back all development settings yes, however when I then continue to apply a next brush stroke LR simply resets everything again. I have tried deleting the image and re-importing the original file and starting again from scratch. Still end up in the same situation. Not all images have the same issue. A specific combination seems to cause this ...

I am using LR 5.4 and Camera Raw 8.4, and am working with a Nikon D800E file imported as a DNG. I use OSX Mavericks 10.9.3 on a Mac Pro with 64GB of ram.

Have you tried resetting the preferences file: http://www.lightroomforums.net/showth...

It fixes some weirdness at times.

Working with a new preferences file now. The reset unfortunately didn't fix the problem though ...
