LR5.2RC import dialog crashes when phone attached via USB

Lightroom 5.2RC on Windows 7 or 8 (tried both, x64 editions). The import dialog will crash the application if my Galaxy SII is plugged into the system. The phone is connected as a media device.

To reproduce: Plug in phone via USB. Run Lightroom 5.2 RC. Bring up the import dialog. Get the message 'Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working.'

The dialog works properly if the phone is not connected.

This has been a problem with various devices for a long time - Lr can not always tell which devices are viable, and trying to render thumbnails for whatever stuff it finds etc. has long been potentially problematic.

I suppose the work-around is obvious: don't connect your phone (sorry, but I had to say it). Or perhaps I should say "if import dialog is crashing, do disconnect all devices except the ones that don't cause problems...".

Thanks for the reply. I reported this because I didn't know how widespread the problem was or if anyone else had seen this. Of course the workaround is obvious, and it's one that I've been following.

Ideally, the import should realize that it doesn't see what it expects when looking at a phone and skip the device without crashing the entire application. That's the resolution that I'd like to see...
