LR 4 maps & book module suggestion: Would it be helpful to many if one was able to render a map with marked track (and maybe photo locations) in high resolution and carry the result over to the book module? I believe this would be a great feature for anybody trying to document travel and sightseeing. Agree?

Absolutely FAB idea several plus ones for me.

At the moment you could always use a screen grab / skitch and make a png copy that way, but why not integtrate it into the package?

I'd just question the rights aspects here. We may be licensed to use maps within an app, but to produce printed material? Does anyone know from experience or from reading the t&c?

No, adobe connot offer this feature with google maps. It is a problem of rights.
if you want this feature you meed first to ask access to alternative map providers that allow such use of their data (openstreet, nasa imagery,...)
Same goes for caching data : not possible with google term of use.
i already sent a feature request to access alternative map providers. Go and vote for it. That would be nice to have maps in books as well as slide show and websites.

Well, you are probably correct, but Adobe should have foreseen this; and should be working on a solution - if they're serious about their map module. This functionality is an obvious need.

The quality of the maps should be good enough to save as a JPG so that it can be imported into the book module or used in slideshows. This would really be a great feature.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Lightroom: Map Module - creating JPG for use in book module, slideshow, etc..

This is a feature that has been available in Aperture 3 for a couple of years now ... Don't understand what would be so difficult about it ... Apple found a way to do it ... same as they have had far less problems with offering up support for tethering than Adobe has had ... not to mention that you could create custom page sizes, export as jpegs for books in Aperture since Day One ... Adobe has caught up with export as jpegs in v4.1 ... but as for custom page sizes and templates ... it's still only a rumor ...
