LR4: noise reduction does not show in library mode?

Just got LR4 and noticed that the view in library mode does not apply noise reduction. I have a very noisy picture and while after applying noise reduction it looks fine in the development module, in the library module it still has the noise.

Here how a sample picture looks in development mode:

And here in the library, where you can still see the noise:

I think Lightroom never applied NR and sharpening to standard previews in Library. Only 1:1.

There were some defects raised about when previews would reflect similar develop settings and when they wouldn't, but you are correct that it is intentional that you only see NR and other processing intensive changes at 1:1 in the library.

The bottom line is that library previews are rendered (and re-rendered) in a different manner than develop. I recall this is for performance reasons.

Thanks guys, I understand.

I never noticed, probably I never had such a noisy picture before. This one was taken with ISO 1600 with an old EOS 30D and was still seriously underexposed, so after ramping up the exposure in LR, the noise really started to show. :)
