Lightroom: LR4 Keyword Metadata Search Fails

Not able to search any keyword in library-metadata filter. Image display area responds with text message claiming no photos with keyword(s) exist.

Searching keywords with library-text filter works as expected, however.

To reproduce:
"All Photographs" selected in Library, select right arrow next to keyword from list in right module.
Inspection of Library filter verifies that it is attempting to filter only images with that keyword, yet the filter returns no images. No keywords in the metadata filter yield results greater than zero.
Deselect Library-metadata and select Library-text filter. Searching keywords with the text filter works normally.

Checked to make sure that all stacks were expanded, if that posed a conflict (none were) - same results.

Particulars: LR4 64bit Win7 Pentium b940 4GB. Copied existing small LR3 test catalog (LR3 worked amazingly well on this low end Sandy Bridge laptop, btw) and imported into LR4, allowing it to update catalog copy.

Gee, so many replies . . .

I seem to have eliminated the problem. I threw out the LR4 catalogue & previews and started over. Created default LR4 catalog, imported copy of LR3 catalog. Last time, I opted to keep the old catalog when asked by import dialog, this time I chose to discard it.

Just reporting my mileage; I'm not interested in troubleshooting - I'll leave that for the folks @ Adobe, if they care to pursue it.

I have to say, a single beta and then release within two months is a bit fast for all the junk that was added in LR4. Judging by the forums this may still be a form of beta . . .
