Lightroom: LR4 crashes regularly

I have a fresh install of LR4. My first impression is, that the performance compared to LR3 is awkardly slower. Most adjustments take a noticeable time, LR3 worked in real time on my machine (quad core pentium, win7 64bit, 8gb ram).

but what really makes LR4 a pain in the behind is that it crashes every 10 to 15 pictures opened. i am just applying a development set and doing some little tweaks to some of them, but afer 10 or 15, it reguraly crashes.

i noticed it crashes later when i dont use the second monitor as a preview output. without, it takes 30-50 pictures to crash.

actually it freezes and after a minute or two windows suggests to close.

anybody experiences anything similiar and has some tipps? it is a fresh install, with freshly importes images, no upgrade of an older catalogue.

See if you can get a crashlog. There are instructions for doing this for Windows 7 on other threads, or on the internet.

Also, try disabling all plug-ins. If that helps, introduce them one by one.

Is your video card up to date? Determine what video card you have and go directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD) and download the latest driver.
