In grid view, CTRL+A no longer selects all the images. The film strip does show all photos selected. But if you wanted for example rename all of your images. In LR3 you could go to "g"rid view, CTRL+A, F2 rename all photos.

Hmm, CTRL+A works in grid view in my LR 4.1RC (Windows 7 64-bit). Have you tried a new test catalog? Restarting LR? Rebooting?

Just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. CTRL+A in grid, used to select the images in the grid itself. Now only the filmstrip images get selected. So obviously LR is receiving the signal.

Windows 7 64-bit -- same
Did not try a new catalog
Restarting LR & computer have not worked.

Yup, in my LR, CTRL+A selects all the images in the grid, whether the filmstrip is showing or not.

No problem here, as well. With our without strip showing, grid view selects all when I use splat-A.

Do you have a macro program installed on Windows? Have you enabled the various usability settings by accident? It is possible to hold down or key in some obscure pattern, and Windows will switch to a special input mode tailored for less abled users.

Weird. I tried out a new catalog and that works.... so somehow it's the catalog that's causing the interference.

Was the catalog converted from LR 3? I think there have been other reports of conversions causing wierd behavior in the user interface.

Did optimizing the catalog get rid of the problem?
