My 27" iMac crashes frequently with LR4.1. It never happens with previous versions. It always happens in Develop mode and while adjusting Highlights, Contrast, Exposure, etc. I have 12 GB of RAM installed with a 2.7 GHz proc. and 512 GB of video RAM. No other programs are running when this happens. I have about 6600 photos in various catalogs.

iMacs generally require paired RAM, so that amount is either 4, 8 or 16GB.

At any rate, it sounds like one of those sticks of RAM is bad.

The ram configuration is two 2GB and two 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz equaling 12GB. The computer reads that the memory is OK for what it's worth.

Would it help to remove all of this memory and just install two 8 GB's in bank 0 and bank 1?
