This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Lightroom 4.1 very slow performance in develop mode

LR4.1 Win7 64 16Gb RAM

In the Develop module, adjusting any adjustment slider often causing the whole panel to grey out and jump or jitter. Often the mouse fails to 'grab' the slider and the adjustment doesn't get made.

I suspected several things so removed Windowblinds, reinstalled my AMD 5700 series driver, removed Catalyst manager and rebooted. LR behaved itself for a while then gradually the problem became worse till it was unusable. I also noticed the 'Loading' popup appeared more and more.

this isn't the same as sluggish sliders. These stutter.

From experience, "bumping" does not help.

I've been bumping my "lack of keyboard control for the flow of the temporary erasure brush" topic many times -- just very recently again :) -- to no avail.

Don't mean to hijack your topic. Regard my post as free bump. :)

Can you tell us the rest of your system specs? Processor etc? And where are the photos stored?

When you say the loading pop-up appeared more often, was this in the Library module or the Develop module? Moving from photo to photo or trying to edit a single photo?

What else is running in the background? Anti-virus? Music?
