Hey,
LR Classic (on macos high sierra) won't show photos when i directly choose the folder. I can only see (and edit) them, when they are in a collection or when i choose "all photos" from the catalogue (see screenshots). Files are physically present either on the harddrive or on my NAS.

Hope somebody can help me out...

Hi UltraJochen,

Is this happening with every folder?
With which version of LR Classic are you using?

Can you try creating a new catalog and verify the same?

Thanks,
Bhargav

Which version of Lightroom Classic are you using? The latest version is 8.4.1.
After a Lightroom Classic restart, do you see this issue?

Thanks,
Sunil

This looks like an issue that was fixed in 8.4.1, so make 100% sure you have updated to this version.

Thank you for the fast replies. :)
I'm already using 8.4.1

@Bhargav
Yes, with every folder (doesn't matter if local harddrive or NAS)
I created a new catalog and it did show the imported photos... hmm...

@Sunil
restart doesn't fix the problem

In that case it could be a catalog problem. I have seen that too in the forums a few times. You could try to solve this as follows: create a new catalog, choose 'File - Import From Another Catalog' and import your old catalog. If this shows the folders correctly after the import is done, then use this catalog as your new one. Importing like this should bring over everything except publishing services.

Might be a good idea for the Optimize Catalog function to be expanded to repair this, if possible - then folks won't need to rebuild their publishing services in a new catalog...

Have you tried synchronizing the folder?

Not sure synchronising the folder would do much as the photos are already in the catalog because the OP’s said they can see them in Collections.

I have sent you an e-mail off list to get your catalog.
That will help us to analyze the issue further.

Thanks,
Sunil
