The Question is: I have LR 2015 CC now and it works great. But..... there's always a but? Normally not but now, yes. Lightroom makes the backup into a (file) . Uhhh? The problem is, i do have more then one catalogue and i have in the beginning when starting LR a screen with choices. If i choose the one i made yesterday as a backup, right from the backupfiles on another HD, then it opens. But!! When i am finished (rearranging pictures and throwing stuff away i make a new Backup. In the older versions it came up like 2015-06-01 1703 as is Date and time. The file was called Test2-2-2-2.lrcat to be found in the directory J:\LRBackup\LR52-2-2Nw-V6\2015-06-17 1402.
Alas this file was not found, later i found out that it was because LR had done something with the extension, it added .ZIP to it what is not recognized. Because i always keep the older ones somewhere in a directory untill i have all things of the new version in good order on my PC, i was surprised that it was an .ZIP Normally i make a backup and then i can directly refer to the latest backup to get LR started to the latest changes i made myself. Important to know is that i do throw away a lot off pictures each time before i make another backup. So starting the old backup gives some problems with recognizing thumbnails and no pictures there, or even better, the new imported pictures arent'here anymore. According to the helpdesk they did it because there were lots of questions about this. Welle i do have a whole HD for this set up, because i've paid before when running old and new through each other after a crash, so some of my database in this case is still not up to date. What i woul dlike is tell me how to avoid making the backup not going into a ZIP-file, butr back in the (file).lrcat. nd yes i can extract it , but i have to do that each time after a backup. I rather throw older lrcat. files away then each time extracting the new one to the right spot. The Helpdesk also said it is not possible to do otherwise in the old way. Is it possible to take this to the next upgrade and make a menuitemm in the cataloguesection, where one can choose, were to decise yes or no using the ZIP?
I use this screen to oversee my catalogue's, watch the date, the last back up i made for the topcatalogue was 2015-06-17 1950 and it still uses the one from this afternoon (i unpacked that one myself)
