What is your Lightroom version? What is your Photoshop version? Mac or Windows? What file format do you export?

Both latest versions of CC 2019
PS 20.0.4
LR 8.2

Exporting as PSD, Exported file is correctly created but not opened by photoshop, home screen disabled on photoshop

Replicated across two computers

are you images on NAS? Try rolling back to Camera Raw 11.1, see this doc: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/unable-to-open-raw-files-from-network-storage.html

Stored locally on same drive as both applications are installed. Not NAS.

I rolled back to 10.5 - No Success, same problem.

Additional update
This problem doesn't occur if the files and the catalog are on an external USB drive.

Andy,

Have you attempted a clean reinstall of Photoshop?  This problem came up a couple of years ago when Lightroom was updated after Photoshop. A clean reinstall of Photoshop would make the issue go away.  The detail that it occurs differently on different drive locations is curious however.

Can you uninstall/reinstall Photoshop and let me know if it still gives you issues on both machines?

Hi Rikk, So 6 days ago I updated both the laptop and desktop and no luck.
Now I don't know if there has a been a update rolled out since then i.e. within the last 5 days, but as of last night it suddenly started working on one of them.
Out of habit I ran the same export preset and was surprised when it opened the image and repeated it on the desktop with success just now.
Very strange?

I' ́ll be interesting to hear if those who have Me Too'd this post can report the same thing.

Thanks !
