Lightroom mobile: Does not sync

What I want to do:
1. Use LR on Mac for image management and editing
2. Use LR on iPhone 6 Plus to show off the photos from my Mac. I'd like both sets of photos to be identical and available offline.
3. Be able to edit on either device and have edits show up on the other.

I had created collections for about 8,000 photos and synched them from the Mac. Only anomaly noted was that sometimes I'd add 20 photos and LR would spring to life and say it was synching some 2,000. All collections on LR Mobile are enabled for offline viewing. I left iPhone on and LR Mobile up for about 8 hours to get everything synched, but when I went to leave on vacation to Europe, most of the offline photos had not synched and the Mobile app was stuck in "pending". I deleted most of the synched collections and rearranged my photos so I could synch them with iTunes (which works great but only synched the original version). When I returned I began troubleshooting:
1. The Creative Cloud App is not working. It is not showing my apps. I get a pinwheel when trying to connect, and selecting Reload my apps produces Unable to reach Adobe servers.
2. I deleted all my data using the preference screen in LR on desktop, deleted LR Mobile and redownloaded it, and, one-by-one, selected a collection, set it for synch, and watched the progress on Adobe cloud and on my iPhone. First collection of 13 photos loaded properly (albeit very slowly) and the Mobile App detected each new photo and downloaded it. After it was complete, put iPhone in Airplane mode to be sure all photos were present. They were. Took phone out of airplane mode and added a second collection to synching. Showed up on Adobe cloud and LR Mobile detected the second collection. None of the photos has downloaded, and none are visible on LR Mobile (that is, they cannot be viewed at all). Status is: "Downloading for offline. 29 pending." Nothing has happened for 30 minutes. I quit LR mobile and restarted--same status. Pending.

As an aside, I'd like to agree with some others on the forum that we need a way to get photos from Mac to iPhone/iPad without going through the Cloud. As was apparent when I was in Europe, the Cloud is expensive when out of your home country and many of the folks that use Lightroom are professionals and travel a lot. I would be quite happy to be able to synch my iPhone with my Mac over USB or wifi.

Anyway, LR Mobile is not usable. Apple Photos works but does not capture the LR changes. I need a solution.

Hi,

sorry to hear about this, could you send us a diagnostic log to see what might be going on? Just click on the Lr icon on the top to enter the settings and then keep the Lr icon pressed for a couple of seconds.

If you have a mail application configured it will pop up with address and everything ready to send

thanks,
Ignacio

Sorry, if I click on the Lr icon, I get a dropdown that says Sync with LR Mobile, Address Lookup and Face Detection. Clicking and holding for 2 seconds (or 10 seconds) produces nothing. Guess I didn't understand)
