Lightroom: Develop module slows down after cloning (macOS AMD 460)

LR use of the dedicated GPU in 2016 MacBook Pro 15" appears to be broken.
After I do some cloning on a headshot - skin editing - LR has always slowed down quite a bit.   However with the dedicated GPU turned on using my 2016 MacBook Pro 15", LR "D" mode becomes completely unusable.

I'm used to using a 2015 13" model - no dedicated GPU obviously - and it gets very slow but not as slow as the 2016 15" with dedicated GPU turned on.

The new MBPr with dedicated GPU turned off is a little bit faster than the 2015 13" but nothing to write home about.   Turning on the dedicated GPU makes the machine act as if it is broken.

Monitors:
a. Built-in monitor running at default 1680 or one "stop" larger at 1440.
b. 4k Dell monitor24" (actually 3.8k) running in 2k mode.

I did my testing running one monitor at a time.

Adobe, can you make LR D mode work better with the dedicated GPU?  Or even better figure out how to make LR run faster in any GPU mode after a lot of edits are done on an image?

I do create 1-1 previews prior to edits.   Have never tried using SmartPreviews because I have the impression that they are only good up to 1-1 and often my edits require further magnification than that (am I correct?)

Thank you.

Without the regard to the performance...Is it possible to enable the use of GPU(Radeon Pro 460) in Lightroom at all?Or do you get the error message "Graphics processor acceleration has been disabled due to errors"??
I'm considering buying a new MacBook Pro, and except of you, there is NO report out there telling anything about the combination Radeon Pro 460 GPU and Lightroom... It's so frustrating...

Hi Art, are you still having issue with Lightroom 2015.10 and slowness in Develop?
