Lightroom 6.10 (Mac) crashing on import

LR crashes when I try to import images - I see there was a discussion of this two years ago, but when I send the crash report to Adobe the reply is that no solution has been found - surely in the past two years something has been done to discover the problem?  I am using LR 6.10 on the iMac. The problem started today when I tried to launch LR - it crashed on launch two or three times before I could access it, then the Import function crashed the app and it keeps on crashing.

Which operating system version? If you've recently upgraded to High Sierra, that would make sense. You'd need to update to 6.14 for compatibility.

Which version did you install? If you install Lightroom Classic CC, you would get "Start Trial" as it is CC only. 

You should still have your Lightroom 6 installed on your macOS.
Go to Applications-->Adobe Lightroom

Here is the direct link for 6.14 patch for macOS.

When you launch Lightroom 6, it should show Lightroom 6.14 in Splash Screen as well as the System Info(Help-->System Info)

Did updating to Lightroom 6.14 help?

I think that the problem may have been more related to the number of programs I had open on the Mac - however, I've installed the update and, so far, have no further problems.  Thanks again for your help!

Thank you, this update worked for me as well! It's been SO frustrating not being able to import photos in any way!
