LR Classic 7.2 is still very slow. quick develop takes ages (as creating 1: 1 preciews does)(have to close and open LR) I have a really fast Mac ( iMac iMac17,1Processor Name: Intel Core i7, Processor Speed: 4 GHz, Number of Processors: 1, Total Number of Cores: 4, L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB, L3 Cache: 8 MB,   Memory: 32 GB. Pictures and previews are on fast medium (Promise Pegasus 2 R4) Please tell me i am doing something very stupid. Had hoped this update would take care of this issue... Can't work in the way i want to ! and was used to)

Hi Bart, sorry to hear that. Ok, so when you say "takes ages", how long are we talking?

If you, for example, create 1:1 previews for 100 photos, how long does it take? And which camera?

And it is just creating previews and clicking buttons in Quick Develop that takes a long time? How many photos selected when using Quick Develop?

Youre fast ! Thanks Victoria !!

- Canon 5Dm4
- 100 ? I won't even try.... (i used to :-)
- Quick develop; 1 picture at time even does not work; the three white point at right top will stay there forever...closing LR and opening will give directly the result i was looking for..
- i just did discard  1:1 previews for 143 pic and build them again -> 6 minutes (don't know if that is really the same of creating it from new files) First i closed and opened LR...otherwise nothings would have happen
- it get's worse when LR is open for a longer time..closing and opening is a short solution.

Hmmmm, can you please go to Help menu > System Info and paste the contents here. That may give the engineers some clues.

Also, can you reproduce the problem in a new catalog created just for some quick testing?

Ok, progress indeed! Have you optimized your catalog lately? If not, you'll find that under the File menu.

Hey ! Yes i did (every time i quit) but now i have discoverd something new... When i click on the three dots upper right (who stay there for ever) I get a window "The metadata for this photo has been changed in Lightroom. Save the changes to disk? " When i click that de Quick develop action is instantly done.....never have had that..  have had that
