LR Classic - not able to see the sharpness unless zoomed

This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Lightroom Classic: Images not sharp unless I zoom in and out

I use Canon 5dmk4 and when I load RAWs, most of them come "soft". Those made with shallow depth of field. If I use big apertures, like f1.8, I need to zoom in, wait for it to completely load (slow) and only then when I zoom out to fit my screen I will have perfectly sharp image.

So steps to produce this:

1. Load any shallow DOF image
2. Normal screen size, relative to the monitor is not sharp. It looks kind of soft with difficult to predict where the focal point is.
3. Zooming to 100% renders the image entirely and nicely. But it's a very slow process.
4. Zooming out and having full image on the screen is finally tack sharp.

Any ideas?
It wasn't like that before. I remember LR rendering any screen size nicely and sharply even before going to 100%. So either they changed the rendering, some settings or it's a bug.

Big camera files, slow software.
Are you using an SSD drive, or an external drive with a slow connection  - USB 2 / Thunderbolt 1 or have a hard drive that is 80% full or more?
These things do make a difference, the main one is that LR is slow

Yes, SSD here. I should note, I'm not using this camera for the first time. I used it in the past and the results were normal. LR started behaving like this since recent update(s).

Okay I found this post https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-classic-cc-images-not-sharp-unless-...

So this basically is a duplicate. It seems it is a bug but there are workarounds in settings to ease it a bit. Will try it for sure.
