I shoot sports and these I may create a Pano and or Edit a picture adding text Via LR to PS. Save the editied file with the name Editied.  And or I create a Pano and its saved from LR. But they wont Catalog. and I attempt to SYNC the folder to pickup the photos. There LR Classic Freezes and wont catalog the pictures. I end up having to kill the process and or program and start over.  I have attempted to reorg HD and also backup and check the catalog for pictures.  Total catalog is 400k.  Any thoughts anyone? Beauler? Beauler?

I think your mistake is to 'save as' under a new name. Stick with the name under which the file opens from lightroom and the edited version should appear in your catalogue automatically. Why you cannot sync your folder to include renamed files I don't know but I'm guessing this may be because photoshop is still open and has some kind of 'handle' on them. I agree, it's a pain that 'save as' doesn't catalog. If it did it would be possible to produce several photoshopped variants without stepping back to lightroom every time. For me, this is a repeated source of annoyance!

Eric is correct. Save As shouldn't be used as that will break the link between the Lightroom-created render and the final file. Use Save instead.

But if I do a save with the original name what happens if I need to go back and use original for something else. Does the PS edit (Adding text) make it hard coded?

Lightroom Classic suffixes pano merge results with -pano. Sending the same file back to photoshop will get a -edit by default.

If your files are:
0001.dng
0002.dng
0003.dng

by default,
the pano will be 0001-pano.dng
an hdr will be 0001-hdr.dng
sending 0001.dng to Photoshop will result in 0001-edit.dng
sending 0001-pano.dng to Photoshop will result in 0001-pano-edit.dng.

There should not be a conflict
