Lightroom Classic 9.1: Hangs on iPhone import

LR Classic 9.1 often hangs on iPhone import, when the iPhone includes video files.  It imports all the picture files just fine, and (sometimes) some of the video files, but then hangs - with the progress bar incomplete.  If I cancel the import (click the little x on the progress bar), it pops up a dialog indicating that it was not able to copy a given list of files (always .MOV files) because "The following files were not imported because they could not be read or the destination folder is not writable."  This problem is repeatable - when I try again, it hangs again.

It seems to happen both for regular video files and for "Live" photos, which import as videos.

For reference, this is an iPhone XR with iOS 13.3, and this problem happened on LR Classic 9.0 as well.  I am not the only one who experiences this bug! See  https://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/threads/iphone-photos-import-issue.36949/

David,

I haven't been able to duplicate this behavior on 10.14.6 and iPhone 13.3 (iPhone 11 Pro Max).

Have you reset your preference file on Lightroom Classic?

Yes, I reset my preference file (by dragging it out of the Library, restarting Mac and LR, then doing a quick test).  Then I dragged it back, restarted Mac and LR.  Now the other problem I had, seems magically fixed.  This problem – the hang on import – I have not been able to reproduce today, but that's because my iPhone is mostly clean of photos.  The problem may only occur when I have a large number of videos, or Live Photos.  More testing will be needed.
