Lightroom CC: for MacOS Sorting Issues

Lightroom CC 1.1 for MacOS has fixed a few sorting issues by now syncing a CUSTOM SORT from Lightroom Classic. However, if the custom sort is changed in L. Classic, this does not sync across to LR CC unless the sync option is turned off on the L. Classic Collection, thus deleting the album in LR CC. Resyncing the Collection then correctly does the custom sort in LR CC. This should not be necessary. There is still a major omission in LR CC in the sort options: cannot sort by file name, even though this can be done in the iOS app. I often rename photo file names into a sequence in a Classic Collection as a means of ensuring the custom sort is durable.

That shouldn't be the case, i.e. ongoing changes to the custom sort order in LR Classic of a synced collection should always appear in the same album in LRCC (provided the sort order in LRCC is also set to Custom). I've just tested again and confirmed that it does happen that way, although the time gap between making a change in Classic and seeing the change in LRCC does vary from a couple of seconds to half a minute....but it always updates.

Try it again?

I may have misunderstood the question, but if you’re looking for your lightroom cc sorting to match what you have on your computer, open a folder of images in Lightroom CC, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner and you will see sort options... One of them is custom sort which will sort to the same order that your images are on your computer.
