Lightroom CC Clarity now works as a vignette??

Seriously...I know the clarity slider has been basically useless since LR4, but now it is just ridiculous. Acts as if it is pre-lens corrections rather than post.

I have not noticed this, but maybe I don't have much vignetting on my lenses, even the kit lens my camera came with.

Based on the fact that Toning is up top and lens profile corrections are down past the middle, I'd guess you are right that Clarity happens before Lens Corrections.

If you want pre-LR4 Clarity just set your process version to 2010.

Personally I like the newer clarity better because there are less halos along high contrast edges.

I haven't seen anything like this. Clarity is applied evenly across the image for me and it works very well. What problem specifically are you seeing?

Sony a7r, Sony/Zeiss 16-35mm lens. Was working on a new cloud project. I applied Lens Correction, I am a little confused by the ! moniker that pops up now that says Lens Profile has already been applied... very confusing. But then when I used the clarity slider, it did add clarity to the clouds but also a white vignette when I crank it up. Normally I do not use clarity at all..just because of the nature of it...but I was surprised to see the results..

What lens is selected when you Enable Profile Corrections? Is it the right lens or not?

What I'm seeing with a sample A7R photo is that CA correction is applied from built-in profile for an FE 24-70 F4 ZA OSS and then if I enable lens corrections LR is also applying distortion and vignetting corrections for a profile of a 24-70 F2.8 ZA SSM lens, which is the wrong correction.

Does the built-in profile have vignetting correction or not? And is the profile that LR chooses when you enable corrections the correct lens or not?

I would guess that LR is either double-correcting the vignetting which would be too bright in the corners, or perhaps LR is adding vignetting correction for a lens with more vignetting so it's showing as white in the corners.

Either way it's not a problem with Clarity it's a problem with double- or incorrect-profiling due to enabling lens profile corrections when there is a built-in profile.

Apparently I am completely mistaken... it is my Sigma 70-200 2.8 APO and it doesn't matter if corrections are on or off. Very strange... The image left is no clarity, the image right is clarity @ +100 There is a clear vignette. I have tested this with other shots and it does not happen. Not sure now what is going on.

Does this lens have a built-in lens profile, and does it correct vignetting?

If so, I'd say the lens profile is overcorrecting.
