In lightroom cc 2015 windows 8.1 x64 after I've edited a photo in the develop module then I click onto the next photo, the screen is going black then the program doesn't respond I have to click on close in the box then reload LR, and it's after every photo I'm editing

Does it help if you turn off the GPU acceleration from Lightroom's user preference dialog?

Well I've just went to test it and after I click on preferences then go to uncheck the use graphics processor option , the photo behind the popup preference box, goes grey then it's becoming unresponsive again until the close program dialog box pops up

Are you saying you cannot turn off the Use Graphics Acceleration setting in LR Prefs because LR locks up when you try?

If so, you may have to go edit the LR Preferences file manually with a text editor.

In Windows, the LR prefs file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs is in the following folder:
C:\Users\--username--\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences

The setting you want to change is UseAutoBahn and make it False instead of True.

You can use Notepad to edit the .agprefs file and do it when LR is not running.
