So now I can filter my photos if they come with depth data, some jpgs of my Huawai P30 phone have this (that device is now on the supported list of Adobe too).

But LR doesn't recognize the depth data. Did they miss that?

Could you share a link to a sample JPGs that has depth map info? I am not sure there is any standard for storing depth metadata in JPEG.

Here is one with a depthmap included: https://we.tl/t-6qSwIYDKOa

There are probably a few ways to store the data, but since the phone is on the official "supported list" since last update I thought they covered that too.

Thanks. I checked the sample JPEG and exiftool did not report any depth related info.

FYI, Lr is currently only aware of two file formats (HEIC and DNG) that could have embedded depth data.

did anyone get to the bottom of this? i'm having same issue. i have a bunch of jpgs from which i can extract a depth map, but when j import into lightroom classic - the originals with that depth map embedded - it doesn't recognize depth. i'm handy enough with exiftool - is there some workaround to fix the metadata so that lightroom recognizes the depth information which IS present

Can you upload another sample JPEG to Dropbox or similar and post the sharing link here?  The previous sample posted above is no longer available.

Are you a developer working on including this?

I'm not an Adobe employee. I develop LR plugins that deal with metadata, and I like to keep up with changes in metadata standards and can often suggest workarounds for issues in LR.
